The Centre actively recruits people willing to volunteer and works with them to identify opportunities to meet their needs and match their skills and expectations in a wide range of voluntary opportunities. The Centre recruits approximately 700 volunteers a year and places them with over 400 registered statutory, voluntary and not-for-profit organisations. If you want to volunteer, have a chat with one of their Volunteer Interviewers, who are experts on local opportunities to help your community. They will try to find a suitable opportunity for you, matching your circumstances and interests. Appointments are offered Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm, and usually last about 45 minutes. You will talk to one of the interviewers (also volunteers) who will discuss your interests and requirements and help you make contact with the right organisation. Call 020 8661 5900 to book an appointment.
Does your organisation need volunteers? Volunteer Centre Sutton can help. They offer assistance with recruitment and basic selection of volunteers. They can publicise your voluntary opportunity online through The National Volunteering Database and locally in The Volunteer Centre itself, where people calling in to look for voluntary work will be able to view your opportunity. They can also offer advice and information on good practice when working with, and selecting volunteers. For more information ring 020 8661 5900 or visit VC Sutton website.
